The disciples alongside Jesus embarked on a journey by sea and voila, a great windstorm arose. As if that wasn’t enough, the waves began breaking into the boat and the disciples took fright. I’d do the same honestly 😂. But God requires us to react differently – in situations such as these (storms of life).
The story in Mark 4:35-41 shows that Jesus was woken up with a question, “Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?” Have you been surrounded…so much that you’ve been drawn to concluding that God doesn’t care? Jesus woke up, rebuked the wind and – it ceased. And He (Jesus) said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?“
Whenever I read in the Bible that ‘there will be tribulations in the world 🌍’,I always thought the Bible was referring to the end times. However, tribulations can be equated to a number of situations in life. From failure to afford rent or even a meal, debt, loss of a loved one, joblessness, to a prolonged season of singlehood or even recycled 🔁 episodes of disappointment from family and friends. Are you guys with me?
❤️, what are you going through today? Is all well or – the total opposite is what you’re facing? Kudos to you for whom all’s well. Today is focused on you who’s faced by a storm – of life. Fact is – challenges in life are inevitable… but temporary. That situation may have lasted a long while – but it’ll fade! You hear me 👂? It’ll pass!
".....And the Lord God will wipe away tears from off all faces."~Isaiah 25:8
Today, I’d like for us to remember that God cares – even in the midst of the storms we’re in. It is easy for us to think that – God blesses a chosen few. However, Romans 2:11 tells us that God shows no partiality 🤷….He is for everyone – regardless of one’s tribe, race, orientation, sex or even status. And sometimes, we feel like God’s absent 😩 – but I’ve come to learn that He’s closest to us when we are dealing or living in uncertain seasons of our lives.
So hey, we’re not drifting off course but rather staying on! And while at it, let’s practice focusing our eyes 👀 on Jesus and building our faith in Him….because this is how we obtain peace amidst the crises before us 🤗.
